Filming Schedule

We created another filming schedule outlining when we were going to be filming and exactly what scenes, and shots we needed to film on each days. This was because, when we filmed in the house, a lot of the shots we needed didn't come out right, or we didn't manage to get therefore we wanted to be more prepared this time:

Today's Lesson : Editing

In today's lesson, we started to edit the footage that we had filmed over the half term. As it wasnt a lot, and was only for Ariana's parts, we didn't have much to edit but we managed to edit sections of the beginning:

We added overlapping shots that cut into each other, tried to do some cutting on beat and started to add some of our storyboarded scenes into it.

So far we haven't experimented with any special effects on Premiere Pro but we did manage to add a VHS overlay at the beginning. We wanted to know how to create a VHS effect as our music video is going for an old school, 90s look and that would perfectly fit the conventions and create the right vibe. As we didn't know how to do this, we searched on YouTube for tutorials on how to do this, and we came across one which explained how to do it as well as gave us a link for a VHS overlay. We added it to the video, changed the opacity and this was the outcome:

Filming Calender

During lesson, me and Sharay created a filming schedule to plan when we were going to be filming over the next two weeks and what we were going to sleep.

Call Sheets

Studio Booking

We decided to book the studio for tomorrow so that we could get some of Ariana Grande and Lil Kim's scenes done. We booked it for two hours to allow us a lot of time to get these shots done

Today's Lesson

In today's lesson I created, and finalised a simple shooting schedule with Sharay. As our actors were not all available at the same time for two weeks, we decided to split up the filming of the scenes and film the individual scenes first so that after half term we can film the group ones.

I also started to create call sheets for all of our locations, as we had definite filming dates:

Team Meeting

As I decided to make a shooting schedule to organize our filming days, I sent a message into our team group chat to organize the dates where everyone is free:

Pre-Production: Copyright Permission

As our track is a mashup of two songs we did not know if we should email the record company of both artistes or email the DJ and the producer that did the mashup. We finally came up with the conclusion of asking the DJ for permission as he would have had to ask to ask the artistes for permission as he profits off of his mashup tracks and we are more likely to receive a response from him.

Below is a copy of the email and direct message on instagram that Sharay sent to Raheem Davis asking for Copyright permission.

Hackney Wick

Today after college, I went to scout out the specific locations that we could use for filming in Hackney Wick, for references when we actually go to film as well as for the recces. I looked for locations where there was lots of graffiti, particularly colourful graffiti that featured pinks, blues and other bright colours to fit the theme of the song. These are the locations I liked, and we could use for the music video:
