Today's Lesson

In today's lesson I worked on getting a proper version of my mock - up for my magazine advert. As we haven't done our actual studio or location photography, I wanted to just get an idea of what types of fonts and styling I could use for my actual advert.
I started with making the title on Illustrator:

I chose the colour pink as I felt like it fit it with the teen movie theme, and the song's theme as well. I wanted to add an underline, so I created a rectangle box and then erased certain parts to make it look like it went behind and in between the letters, rather than over it. It was slightly hard to do this, as when erasing it was easy to go too far into the white, and then have to redo a whole erasure or re-do the rectangle:

After this, I started on the picture. I chose a location one to test it out, and started by erasing the background:

I then used the brush tool to paint a pink background onto the erased background:

When the background was basically completely coloured in pink, I went back to illustrator to create more text - this time for the names of the girls:

At the end of the lesson, this was the result:
